Development proposal - Overview
Our vision is to deliver a well-designed, sustainable new neighbourhood that complements the character of Sayers Common and supports its planned growth, as part of the Sayers Common Sustainable Community which is proposed by Mid Sussex District Council.
Key development features will include:
• 80 new homes, including 24 affordable homes (30%)
• Public open spaces and a children’s play area (LEAP)
• New pedestrian and cycle connections
• Biodiversity net gain of at least 10%
• Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)
• All-electric homes with air-source heat pumps and solar panels
This site contributes to the wider expansion of Sayers Common, which is around 2,500 homes that are proposed in total, and supports policies within both the emerging local plan and the Made Neighbourhood Plan. Specifically, financial contributions will be made via a legal agreement with Mid Sussex District Council towards new and improved facilities such as education, health, policing and community.
